Mayor Bloomberg rides the subway to and from work every day, to prove that in spite of his billions of dollars he's still a "man of the people." Of course, the doors to City Hall are shut to poor people... he won't meet with us, or give us a place at the table in shaping the policies and programs that impact their lives.

My name is Maria T. Walles, and I'm a member of Picture the Homeless. We had an action on Tuesday February 3rd at 1PM with the Right to the City coalition. The protesters went inside the Grand Hyatt to inform Mr. Bloomberg how we felt, about how he's not listening to the homeless people and working people. We have a voice. Our voice was heard.
Here's a message from one of our members who is still behind bars from yesterday's excellent disruption of Mayor Bloomberg's elitist "Future of NYC" luncheon. Rob just called us up from the bullpen... despite being held for over 24 hours, he was in good spirits and sounded very energized to KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!

I was representing Picture the Homeless on a Housing Housing and Now trip to ask state senators to repeal vacancy decontrol.<br /><br />I was slightly disappointed in some of the senators.
